Arsenal rival Chelsea in Cesare Casadei pursuit

Arsenal will reportedly provide stiff competition to Chelsea in the race to sign 19-year-old Italian midfield sensation Cesare Casadei from Inter Milan.

According to a report by Italian publication La Repubblica, Cesare Casadei is the subject of interest from Arsenal over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The 19-year-old Inter Milan midfield sensation is also a target for the Gunners’ London rivals Chelsea, with the Nerazzurri demanding €20 million for him.

Cesare Casadei has spent his formative years with three Italian clubs, starting his youth career at ASD Cervia before joining AC Cesena. But the teenage prodigy had to find a new club when Cesena folded in 2018. And he joined Serie A giants Inter Milan before establishing himself as one of the best young midfielders in his homeland.

The 19-year-old is yet to make his first-team debut for Inter Milan but has a solid record of 24 goals and seven assists in 65 appearances for the Primavera team. Casadei’s progress at Inter Milan has not gone unnoticed, with several European bigwigs, including Arsenal and Chelsea, setting their sights on him. The London giants have submitted enquiries for the Italian midfield sensation.

The interest from Chelsea stems from the uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho. The two experienced midfielders have entered the last year of their respective contracts and might depart from Stamford Bridge in the foreseeable future.

Jorginho has emerged on the radars of several Serie A clubs, with the Italian international reportedly keen on joining Juventus. Casadei is thus a viable target for Chelsea, who will have to fend off stiff competition from London rivals Arsenal to secure the services of the Italian midfield sensation.

The interest from Arsenal is intriguing, considering the Gunners have already bolstered their midfield unit by signing Fabio Vieira from FC Porto. But the north Londoners have shown an inkling to sign another midfielder. Several midfielders have thus popped up on Arsenal’s radar, including Arthur Melo, Lucas Paqueta and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Inter Milan will demand €20 million to part ways with Casadei, but Arsenal and Chelsea are not ready to shell out the required sum to sign the 19-year-old midfield sensation. It will be interesting to see if the Serie A giants lower their demands or stick to their guns. But Casadei’s star is is rising amid interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.
