Real Madrid will reportedly reopen talks with Real Valladolid as they look to find a loan club for Reinier Jesus this summer.

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are planning to reinitiate negotiations with newly-promoted La Liga side Real Valladolid as they continue to search for a club to loan out Reinier Jesus.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is back at Real Madrid after spending two seasons away on loan at Borussia Dortmund. Reinier Jesus did not enjoy the best of spells in Germany as he managed just 39 appearances across two years, scoring and assisting one goal apiece. Back in Madrid, the Brazilian has begun pre-season training with Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

However, with the three non-EU places in the squad already occupied, there is no place for Reinier at Real Madrid, and another loan spell beckons the former Flamengo ace. A move to Portuguese giants Benfica looked to be on the verge of completion, only for it to collapse after the two clubs failed to agree terms of the arrangement.

It has left Reinier Jesus and Real Madrid in search of a new club where he could spend the upcoming season on loan. AS Roma had shown an interest in the 20-year-old Brazilian, but things have gone quiet on that front. It has now forced Real Madrid to consider restarting negotiations with Real Valladolid, who are also looking at Reinier Jesus as a potential loan target for the summer.

Real Valladolid are back in La Liga after finishing as runners-up in the second division last season. Owned by former Real Madrid superstar and football legend Ronaldo, the Pucela are aiming to strengthen their squad significantly so that they can maintain their top-flight status and not get relegated.

And Ronaldo has spoken to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez about the possibility of signing players on loan this summer. Real Valladolid had expressed an interest in Reinier, but talks died down after it looked like the young attacking midfielder was headed for Benfica.

However, with the move falling through, Real Madrid believe that Valladolid could be the best option for Reinier to play regularly and continue his development. To that end, they are planning to reopen discussions with the La Liga new boys imminently as Los Blancos wish to sort out Reinier’s future before they leave for their pre-season tour to the USA.
