Real Madrid have secured the signing of Atletico Madrid youngster Jesus Fortea, with the teenager confirming the switch on social media.

As reported by MARCA, promising Spanish teenager Jesus Fortea has left Atletico Madrid to join local rivals Real Madrid. The young right-back has confirmed the transfer with a post on his social media accounts.

Fortea started at the Levante academy before switching to Atletico Madrid’s youth setup in 2019. A right-back by trade, the 15-year-old can also play higher up the flank and has been heralded as one of the most talented youngsters in the country.

However, Fortea’s contract with Atletico Madrid expired at the end of the last month, and he confirmed that he would not be renewing his deal with the club. A move to Real Madrid had been touted towards the end of June.

And now, Los Blancos have completed the signing of the youngster, with the teenage defender posting an image of himself in a Real Madrid shirt on Instagram to confirm the move, along with the caption that read: “Very happy with this new challenge. Hala @realmadrid!”

Real Madrid have been shoring up their youth ranks as president Florentino Perez is intent on building the next line of superstars from within the club. To that end, the Merengues have signed several top talents from within Spain and outside in recent transfer windows.

It has been no different this summer either, with the Spanish capital outfit also closing in on the signings of Carlos Sanchez and David Ruiz while recently completing the capture of Erik Vazquez.

Now, Fortea has also completed a move to Real Madrid from Atletico Madrid, seemingly breaking the non-aggression pact between over transfers the two clubs. The 15-year-old is expected to join up with Fran Beltran’s Juvenil B side upon arrival at Real Madrid, although Juvenil A manager Alvaro Arbeloa will be keeping a close watch on his development.

Fortea’s move could open the doors for players to move between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, with reports claiming that as many as seven youth prospects from Los Rojiblancos have been offered to the reigning Spanish and European champions.
