Manchester United have reportedly offered a salary package of €10-15 million per year to Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele, who is yet to sign a new contract.

According to El Chiringuito TV, Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele remains a target for Premier League giants Manchester United, who have offered him a contract worth €10-15 million in net wages.

Dembele has been with Barcelona since 2017 when he joined from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth over €100 million. Brought in as a replacement for Neymar, the Frenchman has never really lived up to the potential he had shown early in his career. Injuries have hampered his development as well, with the 24-year-old failing to make the impact expected at Camp Nou.

Dembele’s current contract with Barcelona expires at the end of the season. An exit on a Bosman deal looked certain when negotiations over a new deal had broken down completely in January. However, the Blaugrana have restarted talks with his representatives over an extension recently after the form he has displayed under Xavi Hernandez.

Indeed, the 42-year-old tactician has been able to extract the best out of Dembele over the past few months, while the forward has shown what he can do if he manages to stay injury-free. It has forced Barcelona to consider their stance on his contract and reopen negotiations to try and tie him down to a new deal.

Despite some roadblocks, there has been some progress made with recent reports indicating that Barcelona have increased their offer to get closer to Dembele’s demands. However, an extension is far from being finalised, with the Catalan giants having to battle the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.

PSG are reported to have made a contract offer worth €17 million-a-year to Dembele, with Manchester United also now presenting him with a lucrative proposal. As per El Chiringuito, the Red Devils have tabled an offer worth €10-15 million per year in net salary to the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner as they look to sign him up on a Bosman deal.

With Manchester United set to lose Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani in the summer, attacking reinforcements will be necessary. And signing someone like Dembele to strengthen the right-wing could be a shrewd piece of business by the Red Devils. But with the Frenchman still negotiating with Barcelona and PSG in the picture, landing him could be difficult for the Premier League giants.
