Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele has reportedly received a contract worth €17 million per year to complete a Bosman move to PSG.

According to reputed Spanish journalist Toni Juanmarti, French giants Paris Saint-Germain are stepping up their efforts to sign Ousmane Dembele, offering him a €17 million-a-year contract. The Barcelona forward will wait to receive the latest deal from the Blaugrana before taking a final call on his future.

Ousmane Dembele is playing the best football of his professional career despite being in the most uncertain situation since joining Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in August 2017. The French forward has won over the previously seething Barcelona supporters and has been their most reliable performer in the last few months.

The 24-year-old racked up 11 assists in just 17 La Liga appearances this term, emerging as a creative force for Barcelona in the second half of the campaign. But Dembele’s long-term future has left Barcelona in a spot of bother, with his deal expiring in a few months. Such a situation has captured the attention of PSG.

PSG will likely lose the services of Kylian Mbappe in the summer transfer window, with the French international reportedly on the verge of joining Real Madrid in a Bosman move. Mbappe’s exit will leave PSG short of quality options in the attacking department, especially with Lionel Messi and Neymar showing signs of regression.

With Angel Di Maria set to leave PSG as a free agent, signing a right-sided attacker will be of utmost importance. Dembele has thus emerged as a viable target for Les Parisiens, who even tried to sign him in the January transfer window before he stayed put at Barcelona.

The newly-crowned Ligue 1 champions have now submitted their offer to Dembele, tabling a deal worth €17 million per year. PSG will also pay a lucrative signing bonus to the French forward. But Dembele is waiting for the final contract submission by Barcelona and will likely make his final call in around 20 days.

Recent reports have claimed that the Catalan giants have raised their contract offer for Dembele, with other outlets suggesting he is keen on extending his stay at Camp Nou. With Xavi Hernandez bringing the best out of Dembele, it will not be surprising to see him snub PSG and stay put at FC Barcelona, even for lower wages.
