Manchester United and Inter Milan have reportedly joined Barcelona, Arsenal and Tottenham in the race to sign Kylian Mbappe, as per reports.

Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb have reported that Manchester United and Inter Milan sent scouts to watch Kylian Mbappe in action against Manchester City on Tuesday. The two clubs have now joined the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the chase for the AS Monaco prodigy.

The two clubs would certainly have loved what they saw at the Etihad Stadium, as Mbappe ran riot and combined brilliantly with Radamel Falcao in attack to grab three vital away goals in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie.

In fact, that was only one of the many instances when Mbappe has shown just why he is hailed as the “next Thierry Henry”. Rated as one of the most promising young footballers in the world, Mbappe rose through the ranks at AS Monaco and made his debut for the senior side at the tender age of 16.

It has been two years since then and Mbappe’s stock has continued to skyrocket. The 18-year-old has been nothing short of a revelation this season, finding the back of the net 12 times while providing 8 assists, netting a goal every 93 minutes – highly impressive for a player who is still in his teens.

Needless to say, he is a player who has excited many across the world with his undoubted talent, and it looks like clubs could soon be lining up to secure his signature in the summer. The likes of Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have all been heavily linked with the teenager.

In fact, Arsene Wenger even confirmed the club’s interest in him by admitting that the Gunners are monitoring the progress of a player who has already broken two records that were long held by Thierry Henry – that of Monaco’s youngest player and scorer.

However, the three giants could soon face competition from two more clubs, with Manchester United and Inter Milan also eyeing the youngster. And even though Monaco lost the match, Mbappe more than made a case for him being likened to a player of the stature of Henry.

Inter Milan has recently been taken over by the Suning Group, who want the club to rise back to the top of European football and contest for the big titles. They are ready to back manager Stefano Pioli with the money and Mbappe could be one of the players signed by the Nerazzurri in the summer.

Meanwhile at Manchester United, Jose Mourinho is eyeing the second phase of his rebuilding job at Old Trafford and has already scouted several attacking players. Mbappe is the latest player to be monitored and it goes without saying that his addition could add a burst of excitement with the great potential that he’s showing with Monaco.

So, the interest in Mbappe only continues to grow and some of the biggest clubs in Europe are joining the queue to sign him. Monaco could face a fight on their hands to retain the exciting youngster and it remains to be seen how things transpire when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
