Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, who has attracted interest from both Arsenal FC and Manchester United, has hoped to resolve his uncertain future before next week.

Morgan Schneiderlina s future has remained under constant speculation during the last two seasons. The French international has been one of the most consistent midfielders in the Premier League since Southampton were promoted to the top division. The dynamic midfielder was subject of interest for both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur last summer, but Southampton managed to hold on to their prized asset.

Schneiderlin has once again been linked with Arsenal with summer, while Manchester United have been added to the list of his suitors. Despite the emergence of Francis Coquelin last season, Arsene Wenger is keen to bolster his midfield, especially with Mikel Arteta approaching the fag end of his career and the unending injury troubles of Jack Wilshere. Manchester United on the other hand are looking for a long-term replacement of Michael Carrick, who has also struggled with his fitness.

The 25-year-old midfielder has confirmed that a negotiations are ongoinga and that he will like to sort out his future before the preseason training begins with Southampton.

“The negotiations are ongoing and should be completed in the coming days. Hopefully before the resumption of [Southampton’s pre-season] training next week.” – Schneiderlin said in an interview to France Bleu Alsace radio station.

According to Telegraph, Southampton have are yet to receive a formal offer from any of the interested clubs, but they have placed a price tag of A?25 million on the midfielder. Recent rumours in social media suggest that Manchester United are currently the favourites to sign Schneiderlin, with Arsene Wenger still contemplating on whether to make a formal bid. But the Red Devils have also been linked with Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, and if the German international arrives at Old Trafford, United are unlikely to sign the Frenchman.

Arsenal have already lost one of their midfield targets this summer, with Geoffrey Kondogbia signing for Inter Milan. The Gunners are currently close to signing Petr Cech from Chelsea, but are yet to make any decisive move for a new striker or another defensive midfielder, which is believed to be vital for their title challenge next season.
