Manchester United are confident that they can wrap up a deal for FC Barcelona winger Pedro before the club ends the US pre-season tour and are hoping to finalise negotiations by mid-week next week as per reports in ESPN FC

Pedroa s future at FC . Barcelona has been subject to intense speculation despite the player signing a new deal in the summer.

The arrival of new signing Arda Turan to add to the already existing trio of Neymar, Messi, Suarez means Pedroa s chances might be limited at the club.

The player himself was quoted saying earlier that he was unsure about his future and his buyout clause recently dropped from a 150 million to a 30m

Manchester United hoping to sign Pedro by mid next week as Di Maria replacement

Reports by ESPN FC say that Manchester United are hoping to conclude a deal for the winger by mid next week and the player will be a replacement to the departing Angel Di Maria who is set for a move to PSG as per reports.

The ESPN FC report says:

Manchester United will meet with representatives of both Barcelona and winger Pedro in the United States over the weekend, as they hope to complete a deal for the 27-year-old by the middle of next week, sources have told ESPN FC.

Louis van Gaal sees Pedro as the ideal type of wide-player in his system, despite some slight reservations about the player’s pace.

The Barcelona forward will likely end up as a direct replacement for Angel Di Maria, whose exit seems increasingly likely. All of those who work around the Argentina insist he will not be a Manchester United player by the end of this transfer window, and move to Paris Saint-Germain, despite what have been strained negotiations between the two clubs.

The main sticking point has been over valuation and any potential payment structure, although there is a willingness on both sides to eventually do the deal.

Di Maria unsettled

Di Maria is thought to be unsettled at Manchester United with the player saying he was less than pleased with warming the bench at the club.

a Yes. For me, and my family. Because not everything goes as I want, because I dona t play. Because I came with an intention and end up on the bench.a

Earlier report from France claim that the player has already agreed personal terms with PSG with Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal also publicly coming out and stating that the player is finding life difficult at Manchester United, it does seem his days could be numbered at Old Trafford.

The ESPN FC reports further adds to the reports that Di Maria is unsettled at Manchester United:

The feeling at Old Trafford is that Di Maria will never really settle at the club, and they can’t take the risk on another disappointing season. The Argentine national team management reportedly felt during the Copa America that Van Gaal had “destroyed” Di Maria’s “football rhythm,” and sources say he has very little relationship with Van Gaal.

Where could Pedroa s future lie?

FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique had stressed earlier this month that he wants Pedro to stay at the club, but has now admitted that the player could leave should his release clause was to be met.

a Pedro? If he wants to go, a club will have to meet his release clause,a Luis Enrique was quoted as saying by Sport.

Both, Manchester United and Chelsea FC would be attractive options for Pedro.Whilst recent reports claim Manchester United are favorites for the Spanish winger, earlier reports in Catalan media stated Chelsea FC are leading the race a with Pedro allegedly having had conversations with manager Jos Mourinho which the player later denied.

One would think that Pedro will use these coming six months till Turan is ineligible to play for FC Barcelona to see where he stands and could decide his next move in January if not in the summer having stated that he could, still, stay at the club.

If not to sign Pedro, Manchester United could use the money from Di Maria transfer to finance a deal for Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller, having launched a mammoth a 100m bid for the player.
