Manchester United are set get beaten by Real Madrid in transfer battle yet again as Toni Kroos has set his heart on a move to Santiago Bernabeu.

Toni Kroos has long been a target of Manchester United as the German international has yet to agree contract extension with the club management but the players appears to have set his sights on Spanish capital.

Madrid based newspaper El Confidencial has claimed today that Toni Kroos has only one year left in his contract but do not want to extend it and now set to get playing experience in foreign country.

Real Madrid boss wants to strengthen his midfield during this summer and also wants to inject some fresh blood into the squad. Juventus’ midfielders Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal are the preferred targets but both are extremely expensive. Hence, the Italian has set his sights on the German international who will come relatively cheap because of his contract situation.

El Confidencial reports that Kroos has himself asked Bayern management to listen to the offers and Real Madrid are ready with the one. Ancelotti wants to move for him because Xabi Alonso has struggled to maintain his high standards off late. While the boss is also not satisfied with the progress made by Asier Illaramendi.

Manchester United target Kroos wants to solve his future before the start of the World Cup. His agent, Volker Struth has been working since past few months to find a agreement with Bayern management but no progress has been made yet. Reportedly, Struth has also met with Real Madrid leaders three times in past one month.

This update about Toni Kroos comes as shocking news for Manchester United. The Red Devils’ are desperately looking for world class midfielder and sees Kroos as one of many targets. However, the factor which is going against their ambitions of signing quality name is absence of Champions League football next season.

Manchester United had such a poor season last year that they even failed to qualify for Europe. As compared to United, Real Madrid are the current champions of Europe. The player himself had said earlier last month that he does not wish to go to Manchester United.

Kroos said: “I would be very surprised [if Bayern let me leave before end of my contract in 2015]. The club was very clear and told me that a transfer in 2014 would not be possible.”

“There have been many speculations, but Manchester United was never an issue and is no issue right now.”

Nonetheless, Manchester United are not expected to make any transfer calls before the conclusion of World Cup as new boss Louis van Gaal is with Netherlands team and till then, Kroos might have become a Real Madrid player.
