Alexis Sanchez has completed his much awaited transfer move from Barcelona to Arsenal FC, while Ivan Gazidas has assured that more big names signings will follow.

The wait is finally over for the Arsenal fans as Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez was unveiled at the Emirates, along with the new PUMA kit. The 25-year-old’s future at Barcelona came under immense speculation at the start of this summer with the Catalan club being linked with a move for Luis Suarez.

Barcelona were keen to sell Sanchez in order to fund their move for the Liverpool striker and a host of clubs lined up for his signature. Initial reports suggested that Liverpool were the favourites to land him as a part of the Suarez deal, but Sanchez turned down the chance to join the Merseyside club. Arsenal and Juventus were the next possible destination and the Italian club couldn’t compete with the English club’s financial power.

Wenger personally convinced Alexis to join Arsenal and after weeks of speculations, the London club has finally unveiled him. The 25-year-old has reportedly signed a four-year contract, while the transfer fee involved in this move is believed to be around £35million.

Sanchez has expressed his delight at having completed this move and is looking forward to represent the Gunners in Premier League and Champions League.

“I’m so happy to be joining Arsenal, a club which has a great manager, a fantastic squad of players, huge support around the world and a great stadium in London. I’m looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and to be playing for Arsenal in the Premier League and Champions League. I will give my best to Arsenal and want to make all the supporters happy.” – Alexis Sanchez said.

Arsene Wenger is confident that Sanchez’s arrival will add a new dimension to the team and has welcomed the Chilean to the club.

“As many people have seen during the World Cup this summer, Alexis is a fantastic footballer and we are delighted that he is joining us at Arsenal Football Club.

“Alexis will add power, creativity and much quality to our squad and we are all looking forward to him joining up with us in a few weeks. He has consistently produced top-quality performances at the highest level for a number of seasons now and we are all excited to see him integrate into the Arsenal squad. I’m sure all Arsenal supporters will join me in welcoming Alexis to our club.” – The Arsenal manager said.

Meanwhile Ivan Gazidas has promised more big name signings will the arrival of Sanchez.
