Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping close tabs on Atalanta forward Ruslan Malinovskyi this summer.

According to Il Giorno, Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in making a summer move for Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi.

The 29-year-old has been with the Serie A club since 2019, following his move from KRC Genk. He has since made 129 appearances for La Dea, scoring 29 goals and assisting 27 more. While his numbers for Atalanta are far from prolific, his ability to lead the line and hold the ball up should appeal to Spurs.

Antonio Conte’s side are enjoying a brilliant summer that has seen them recruit several top players. The addition of Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison this year has added more bite to a Tottenham attack that had been largely dependent on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Malinovskyi does not appear to fit the profile of the striker that Gian Piero Gasperini is seeking at Atalanta, and a summer sale could be in order. Nottingham Forest had a €15 million bid turned down by the Serie A club earlier this summer. While Tottenham should not have many issues in forking out the €18 million needed to get the deal over the line, they will first need to sell their fringe players.

The likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Sergio Reguilon are still at the club despite Tottenham remaining keen to sell the duo. Should their departures be arranged, it would not come as a surprise if the north Londoners make a late punt for the 29-year-old midfielder.

A good dribbler who can also drop deep to act as a playmaker, Malinovskyi can fit in well in Conte’s mobile frontline at Tottenham. More so, the 29-year-old is also a good set-piece taker, which can help him add a new dimension to Spurs’ ability to find the back of the net.

Richarlison, for all his experience in the Premier League is far from a prolific goal scorer. Bringing in Malinovskyi will keep the Brazilian on his toes while also giving Conte the strength in depth needed to compete on multiple fronts.

Fabio Paratici is well aware of the players in Italy and has shown a partiality to raid Serie A for reinforcements. At 29, Malinovskyi will be far from a starter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He will, however, add to a squad that is looking stronger by the day.
