VfB Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic is open to joining Manchester United this summer as the Red Devils ramp up their pursuit of a centre-forward.

According to Sky Sports, Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic wants to join Manchester United this summer amid interest from the Red Devils. The Premier League giants have stepped up their pursuit for a number nine recently and have shortlisted a few names for a potential summer move.

Manchester United entered the ongoing transfer window fully aware that signing a striker should be one of their priorities following the departure of Edinson Cavani this summer. However, Anthony Martial’s pre-season form compelled them put their pursuit of a striker on the back burner.

But an injury to the French international, coupled with the uncertainty surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United future, who also missed the club’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia due to personal reasons, forced Erik ten Hag to start with Christian Eriksen as the false nine.

Though the Danish international fared decently, Manchester United slumped to a 2-1 opening week defeat, forcing them to dive deep into the transfer market and fill the gaping holes in the squad. Certainly signing a striker is again a priority now, and Manchester United have quite a few names on their shortlist.

Red Bull Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko was among the first players to attract interest from the Red Devils. But the Slovenian striker ended up signing a pre-contract with Salzburg’s sister club RB Leipzig and will join them next summer. The likes of Marko Arnautovic and Mauro Icardi have also been linked with a move to Manchester United recently.

VfB Stuttgart’s Austrian striker, Sasa Kalajdzic has also emerged as a potential signing. The 25-year-old joined the Bundesliga outfit in the 2019 summer transfer window and has since made 58 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 24 times and assisting ten goals.

With just a year remaining on his contract with Stuttgart, the Austrian international is ready for a new challenge and favours a move to Old Trafford. It remains to be seen if Manchester United approach the Bundesliga club for Kalajdzic. They might have to shell out up to £17 million to sign the striker.
