Barcelona striker Memphis Depay has reportedly offered himself to Serie A giants Juventus, with his future at Camp Nou looking bleak.

According to Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Fichajes, Memphis Depay has offered his services to Italian heavyweights Juventus as Barcelona look to offload him in the ongoing transfer window.

Depay joined Barcelona only last summer, arriving as a free agent after his contract with Olympique Lyon had expired. The 28-year-old enjoyed a solid first season with the Catalans, scoring 13 goals in all competitions, and finished as the Blaugrana’s joint top scorer for the campaign.

However, Depay’s time at Camp Nou could soon be coming to an end as he has fallen down the pecking order of things. Depay had already found himself Ferran Torres and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the order of preference in the second half of the last season. Now, Ansu Fati is back from injury, while Barcelona have made several fresh attacking additions as well.

Indeed, Barcelona have signed Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha this summer while they also re-signed Ousmane Dembele on a new two-year deal. It leaves their attacking unit heavily bloated and needing some cuts, with Depay seen as a surplus to requirements.

The Netherlands international has been courting plenty of interest from the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United keen on acquiring his services. However, he has not shown any indication that he plans to return to the Premier League after his ordeal with Manchester United a few years ago.

Italy has thus emerged as a possible destination for Depay, with the Dutchman reportedly offering himself to Juventus. The Italian heavyweights are in the market for a new forward as they look for another player to support Dusan Vlahovic in attack. Alvaro Morata is back at Atletico Madrid after his loan deal expired, while Paulo Dybala has left the club as a free agent.

Hence, Juventus are looking for reinforcements to their frontline. A move for Liverpool star Roberto Firmino is being speculated, but Jurgen Klopp recently made it clear that the Brazilian is not for sale. Thus, Depay could be an enticing option for the Bianconeri, who have been interested in him for a while.

With Depay now offering his services to Juventus, it could lead to a transfer materialising, although Juventus would have to match Barcelona’s €20 million asking price, which could become a hurdle.
