Arsenal enter race to sign Leroy Sane

Arsenal will reportedly provide stiff competition to Real Madrid in the race to sign Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich this summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Leroy Sane is the subject of interest from Arsenal over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The German international, valued at €50 million by Bayern Munich, is also a target for Real Madrid.

Leroy Sane has made considerable progress since joining Bayern Munich from Manchester City nearly two years ago. While the 26-year-old has not been as productive as he was during his days at the Etihad, he has been a handy contributor for the Bavarian giants in the last couple of seasons.

The German international has a decent record of 24 goals and 27 assists in 89 appearances thus far for Bayern Munich. But Sane faces an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena, with widespread reports claiming his representatives offered him to Real Madrid. And Arsenal might provide stiff competition to Los Blancos in the race to sign him.

However, Real Madrid might not launch the offensive for Sane, with Carlo Ancelotti recently insisting that Los Blancos will not sign any more players in the summer transfer window. But amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term future of Marco Asensio, Real Madrid might have to scour the market for a potential replacement.

Sane is thus a viable target for Real Madrid, but the reigning La Liga champions face stiff competition from Arsenal in the race to sign him. Unlike Real Madrid, the Gunners are in the market for a wide-attacker, with Nicolas Pepe expected to depart from the Emirates this summer.

Sane has thus emerged as an option worth considering for Arsenal, who will need to stump up €50 million to secure the services of the German international. But while Real Madrid and Arsenal might not have any qualms about shelling out €50 million for Sane, the player has no interest in leaving Bayern Munich.

Recent reports have suggested that Sane wants to remain at Bayern Munich beyond the summer transfer window as he wants to prove himself at the Allianz Arena. So Real Madrid and Arsenal might have to set their sights elsewhere to bolster their offensive units this summer.
