Real Madrid midfield prospect Sergio Arribas is a man in demand, with Getafe, Girona and Rayo Vallecano keen on signing him this summer.

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid midfielder Sergio Arribas is being chased by as many as three La Liga clubs in the form of Getafe, Rayo Vallecano and the newly-promoted Girona.

Sergio Arribas has been with Real Madrid for a decade now, having joined the club’s academy from Leganes’ youth setup in 2012. The 20-year-old has grown into a key member of the club’s Castilla outfit, making 56 appearances in which he has netted 20 goals and set up eight more. He made his senior debut for the Merengues in September 2020 and has featured ten times in total.

Primarily an attacking midfielder, Arribas is a versatile player who can play on the flanks or line up as a No. 8 in midfield. The Spaniard has showcased tremendous potential during his time with Castilla, and Real Madrid rate him very highly.

However, it is not Los Blancos that hold him in high regard as three La Liga clubs in the form of Getafe, Girona, and Rayo Vallecano are admirers of the 20-year-old prospect and wish to sign him from Real Madrid in the ongoing transfer window.

Rayo Vallecano’s interest in the 20-year-old Arribas has been known since last month, while Getafe have also been long-term admirers of the La Fabrica ace. Girona, too, have joined in the hunt for the Spanish attacking midfielder as they try to lure the youngster by offering him a chance at regular first-team football, having tried something similar with another Real Madrid starlet in Peter.

However, as per the report, Real Madrid have no intentions of parting ways with Arribas this summer. The reigning Spanish and Europen champions want the 20-year-old to stay with the Castilla team for another season and continue his development before thinking about a promotion to the first team or a potential loan move away.

The midfielder is set to sit down and hold discussions over his future with the club officials imminently, and it remains to be seen if he is willing to go along with the Merengues’ plans for him or decides to seek immediate first-team football by joining one of the interested clubs.
