Tottenham are keeping tabs on Destiny Udogie, with the 19-year-old considered a talented prospect to play in Antonio Conte’s system.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham are keeping their eyes on Destiny Udogie, as the club are considering signing another left-sided player in this window. The 19-year-old plays in a variety of positions on the flank, which could be considered vital by Antonio Conte.
Tottenham are looking to improve their first team considerably in this window, as Antonio Conte seeks the right players that fit his system. Spurs are also looking at players of a younger age profile to build their squad with an eye on the future.
Conte values a good wing-back in his system and has been somewhat unhappy with the current options at his disposal. The likes of Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal improved drastically in the last few months of the season. Still, the manager is keen to strengthen the position considerably in the window.
Djed Spence is a priority target for Spurs, which could signal the end of either Doherty or Emerson at the club. Meanwhile, Conte is also keen on recruiting on the opposite flank, which they have already begun.
Tottenham confirmed the signing of Ivan Perisic on a two-year deal, although the Croatian is not a long-term option. Conte is also reportedly open to selling Sergio Reguilon earlier this year. The Italian’s preference to play Ryan Sessegnon instead of the Spaniard shows he doesn’t trust the former Real Madrid full-back. So despite Perisic’s arrival, they could be looking out for another player in the position.
Destiny Udogie is reportedly a target for the club. They are keeping tabs on the Udinese full-back, who can play in multiple positions on the left side. He played primarily as a left-back for the club after joining on loan from Hellas Verona last season, making a solid enough impression for Udinese to sign him permanently.
While there is no reason for Udinese to sell the 19-year-old just yet, they could be tempted if a sizeable offer comes their way. Tottenham might be looking at him as a long-term option, and his return of five goals and three assists from 35 Serie A outings indicates a lot of potential in the Italy Under-21 international.
Tottenham are yet to make an offer to Udinese for Udogie, and they might bide their time before making any concrete advances. With Sessegnon and Perisic already available for the left wing-back berth, even in the case of Reguilon’s departure, Spurs might decide to hold off on their pursuit of Udogie and continue to monitor in the upcoming season.
