Real Madrid and Chelsea are reportedly in contact with Arsenal target Gabriel Jesus, valued at around €55 million by Manchester City.

Reputed Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has written in his column for Caught Offside that up to five clubs are chasing the signature of Gabriel Jesus ahead of the summer transfer window. Real Madrid and Chelsea are in contact with the Brazilian forward, valued at around €55 million by Manchester City, with Arsenal also keen on signing him.

Gabriel Jesus is coming off a solid 2021/22 season where he amassed 13 goals and 12 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. But the 25-year-old has been left in the lurch following Manchester City’s recent acquisitions of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.

With the two forwards likely being options through the middle, Jesus could be surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium. And according to recent reports, the Brazilian international is ready to leave Manchester City in the summer transfer window. Jesus does not have a shortage of suitors either, with Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal vying for his signature.

The interest from Real Madrid stems from their inability to land Kylian Mbappe in the summer transfer window. In addition, with Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz facing uncertain futures at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid will have to invest in a versatile forward, making Jesus a viable target.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Jesus is in contact with Real Madrid and Chelsea, who will also look to sign him. The Blues will likely offload at least one of Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner in the summer transfer window. That should create a vacant spot in Chelsea’s attack, bringing Jesus into the picture.

Meanwhile, Jesus is also a target for Arsenal. The Gunners have pursued him for months, and recent reports have claimed that the two parties have agreed to personal terms already. But despite Arsenal’s best efforts, Real Madrid and Chelsea’s presence in the picture complicates matters for the north Londoners.

Even though the Brazilian international’s contract expires next year, Manchester City will demand around €55 million to part with Jesus. It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal, and other interested parties will launch the offensive and be willing to pay €55 million to sign the 25-year-old as he approaches the exit door at the Etihad Stadium.
