Manchester City have reportedly distanced themselves from the Bukayo Saka speculation, insisting they are not interested in the Arsenal winger.

According to Daily Mirror, Manchester City are uninterested in making a move for Bukayo Saka after recent reports linked the Premier League champions with the Arsenal winger. Instead, Pep Guardiola is set to prioritise the pursuits of players in other positions, namely full-back and midfield.

Manchester City may have won the Premier League without a notable No.9 on their side, but they did endure plenty of criticism for their failure to sign Harry Kane last summer. Nevertheless, they snatched the title on the campaign’s final day by being one point ahead of Liverpool on the table.

The general assumption is that Pep Guardiola will considerably strengthen his squad in the summer, having already begun making terrific moves. Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign Erling Haaland, and Julian Alvarez will arrive after Manchester City agreed to a deal with River Plate back in January.

There is the impending danger of losing Raheem Sterling in the summer, with the English winger entering the final year of his contract. The media has immediately put Manchester City back in the market for a viable replacement for Sterling and have pointed towards Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.

A recent report insisted Manchester City are ready to ramp up their efforts to sign Saka. The Premier League champions were willing to bide their time and not move in the current window but were looking to lay the groundwork for a transfer, probably next summer.

Speculation regarding Saka’s future has been rife as the Arsenal winger has entered the final two years of his contract. However, Daily Mirror claims that Arsenal have the option for an additional year, meaning if they activate it, the deal will last until 2025.

The Gunners are poised to offer Saka a new contract and make him one of the best-paid players at the Emirates. However, it is believed that the 20-year-old wishes to continue playing for Arsenal and sees his long-term future at the club.

And now, Manchester City have denied having any interest in Saka, insisting the Arsenal winger is not on their radar. However, the report stops short of refuting the possibility of a future move, which is quite possible considering the overall quality of the player.

As things stand, Manchester City are likely to focus on acquiring players in other positions, with Marc Cucurella closing in on joining them. The English champions may leave the Saka case for the next summer. For now, Arsenal will look to extend the English international’s deal and possibly kill the prospect of any other team sniffing around for his services.
