Barcelona will reportedly not consider the option to sign 34-year-old Argentine international Angel Di Maria in a Bosman move this summer.

According to a report by Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Angel Di Maria will not move to Barcelona in a Bosman move in the summer transfer window. The Catalan giants have no interest in signing the 34-year-old Argentine international, who will become a free agent in July after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.

Angel Di Maria has enjoyed a largely successful professional career at the club level, winning 27 major trophies during his stints with Benfica, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. The veteran forward has also been excellent in international football, making a mark while representing the Argentine national side.

The 34-year-old’s numbers for PSG are impressive, as he amassed 93 goals and 119 assists in 295 appearances in the last seven years. But Di Maria’s stint with PSG will end in the summer transfer window, as he will become a free agent in July. And the Argentine forward has offered himself to FC Barcelona.

Di Maria moving to Barcelona will surely send shock waves across Europe, considering he enjoyed a successful four-year stint with Real Madrid. But with the PSG forward offering himself to the Blaugrana, his intentions are clear, as he wants to prolong his career at the highest level.

Barcelona will likely sign a right-winger in the summer transfer window, as they will not re-sign Adama Traore permanently from Wolverhampton Wanderers. In addition, Ousmane Dembele faces an uncertain future at Camp Nou amid long-dragging contract renewal talks, with Barcelona losing hope of retaining the Frenchman.

Interestingly, Dembele is a priority target for PSG, who are looking at the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner as a long-term replacement for Di Maria. But Barcelona will not take up the option to sign the Argentine forward in a Bosman move in the summer transfer window.

With Raphinha desperate to join Barcelona, it is highly likely that the Leeds United forward will reinforce Barcelona’s wide-attacking options. As for Di Maria, the 34-year-old PSG attacker’s next destination should be Juventus, with the Serie A giants expected to sign him as a replacement for Federico Bernardeschi.
