Newly-promoted Fulham are eyeing a summer swoop for West Ham United right-back, Ryan Fredericks.

According to a report from Evening Standard, Fulham have set their sights on Ryan Fredericks. The West Ham defender is expected to depart London Stadium at the end of the season as his contract has not been extended by the club. It has put newly-promoted Fulham on red alert, with the Championship winners eyeing a Bosman move for the right-back.

Formerly of Tottenham, Fredericks had been a part of the West Ham setup since 2018. Curiously, he was at Fulham prior to his move to West Ham as the defender was released on a free transfer. Upon joining the Hammers, Fredericks has made a total of 77 competitive appearances, scoring three goals and mustering six assists.

The 29-year-old’s time at London Stadium has been quite mixed, to say the least. He was a key player for the team in the first year and a half but his prominence in the first team dwindled following the arrival of Vladimir Coufal and the subsequent rise of Ben Johnson. Injuries have not helped his cause either.

It has seen the right-back muster a total of just seven appearances in the Premier League this term. As such, the former Tottenham starlet is now set to leave the club at the end of the season and will be available on a free transfer.

Fulham see this as an excellent market opportunity and are prepared to re-sign Ryan Fredericks on a Bosman deal. After once again sealing promotion back to the top-flight, the Cotaggers are determined to retain their top-flight status this time and are thus looking at the market for some serious reinforcements.

The Londoners have considered the possibility of signing on-loan star Neco Williams on a permanent deal. But signing the youngster could prove to be expensive, with Liverpool holding out for a fee of £12 million.

It has perhaps compelled Fulham to set their sights elsewhere and that is where Fredericks comes to the fray. With a combined total of over 200 appearances in the Premier League and Championship, the 29-year-old offers vast experience in English football and has what it takes to become a regular in the top flight.

Fulham, though, could opt to sign Williams regardless in order to add some healthy competition that could go a long way in strengthening the overall quality of the team and help them put an end to their curse in the Premier League.
