Manchester United are reportedly interested in VfB Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic, who is also on the radars of Bayern Munich.
According to Sky Germany, Manchester United are among a host of clubs keeping an eye on VfB Stuttgart and Austria striker Sasa Kalajdzic heading into the summer transfer window.
Kalajdzic joined Stuttgart from Austrian outfit Admira Wacker and has quickly grown into one of the most sought-after forwards in the Bundesliga. The 24-year-old has netted 24 goals in 57 matches so far for the Swabians. so far. However, the recently-concluded Bundesliga campaign was an injury-riddled one for the striker as he made just 15 appearances, scoring six goals.
Despite that, Kalajdzic’s stock remains high as ever, as several top clubs from across Europe are interested in signing him. Indeed, as per the report, Bayern Munich are looking at the Austrian international as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who is linked with a summer move to Chelsea and Barcelona.
Borussia Dortmund have also expressed an interest in Kalajdzic, as have Paris Saint-Germain. And now Manchester United, too, have entered the fray to sign the 24-year-old striker in the summer.
Manchester United are in desperate need of a top goalscorer to support Portuguese maverick Cristiano Ronaldo next season. The club legend has been carrying the team all by himself at times this season and needs better support up top.
Edinson Cavani will be leaving at the end of the season, while Anthony Martial is unlikely to have a future at Old Trafford once he returns from his loan spell at Sevilla. And with Marcus Rashford misfiring big time, incoming manager Erik ten Hag will have a centre-forward at the top of his agenda.
It has led to links with several strikers from across Europe, with SL Benfica’s Darwin Nunez touted as a target, along with Victor Osimhen of Napoli. And now Manchester United are also looking at Sasa Kalajdzic as an option heading into the summer, although they are yet to make any formal approach for the 24-year-old.
As per the report, Kalajdzic would be available for around €20 million. But with Bayern Munich are already set to start negotiations to sign the VfB Stuttgart striker, a move for the Austrian international could be difficult to pull off for Manchester United.
