La Liga heavyweights Barcelona have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Raphael Guerreiro, valued at €10 million by Borussia Dortmund.

According to a report by Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will have the chance to secure the services of Raphael Guerreiro in a cut-price deal in the summer transfer window. The Portuguese international is valued at around €10 million by Borussia Dortmund.

Raphael Guerreiro has come a long way since joining Borussia Dortmund from Lorient in July 2013 as a prodigious 19-year-old left-back. The 28-year-old has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Bundesliga in the last nine years while going from strength to strength at the international level.

The Portuguese international has chipped in with 34 goals and 36 assists in 188 appearances thus far for Borussia Dortmund. But Guerreiro’s contract situation has left the Bundesliga giants in a spot of bother, as his deal will run out next year. Such a situation has captured the attention of one of the biggest clubs in Europe – Barcelona.

Barcelona will likely delve into the market for a left-back in the summer transfer window, as Jordi Alba is well into his thirties. The veteran Spanish international has shown signs of age catching up with him, meaning Xavi Hernandez needs someone in his squad who can compete with the Spaniard.

With Alejandro Balde yet to settle down in the first-team setup, Barcelona will need to sign a left-back in the summer transfer window. To that end, Marcos Alonso recently emerged as the priority target for Barcelona, with the Chelsea defender keen on moving to Camp Nou.

Guerreiro is also a viable target for Barcelona, with recent reports claiming that the Catalan giants are considering a Bosman move for 2023 for the Portuguese international. But according to Mundo Deportivo, the Dortmund defender has been offered to Barcelona over a cut-price deal this summer.

Barcelona can sign Guerreiro for just €10 million, which should fit in their budget and make him cheaper than even Alonso. The Portuguese international might also serve the purpose better than Alonso, but it will be interesting to see if the Blaugrana will take up the opportunity to secure the services of the player from Dortmund in a €10 million deal.
