Tammy Abraham reportedly would like to continue his journey at AS Roma, despite widespread interest from the Premier League clubs, including Arsenal.

According to Calciomercato, Tammy Abraham is uninterested in leaving AS Roma in the summer despite heavy interest from the Premier League. Arsenal are one of the clubs considering signing the England international, who has had a sensational season in Serie A.

Arsenal wanted Tammy Abraham last summer when they were searching for a new striker. Their inability to shift Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette resulted in Mikel Arteta postponing the striker search then, which opened up the doors for Roma to swoop in for the forward.

Roma ended up paying close to €40 million for Abraham as Jose Mourinho was on hand to convince the striker over an adventure in Italy. His performances have produced 25 goals across all competitions, making the former Chelsea star one of the most lethal strikers across the continent.

Abraham’s goalscoring displays have attracted interest from Premier League clubs, with Arsenal reportedly retaining their affection for the striker. The Gunners are intensifying their search for a new forward or two, with Abraham firmly part of their shortlist.

Recent reports insisted Abraham was keen on a return to the Premier League, which came as a boost to Arsenal and Chelsea’s chances of signing the striker in the summer. However, the striker now reportedly wants to remain for the foreseeable future.

Chelsea have a buyback clause inserted in their deal with Roma for Abraham. The Blues will be able to re-sign the striker in 2023 for a price of €80 million, which is more than double what the Italians paid for him in the first place.

Arsenal were preparing a £50 million bid to test Roma’s resolve, but the Giallorossi also do not have any intention to part ways with their ace goalscorer this summer. Abraham has become the leader in their attacking lineup and wants to continue in his role for another season.

However, if Arsenal qualify for the Champions League, their chances of signing Abraham could slightly increase. Roma will not be able to offer the same, as they are likely to end up competing in the Europa League instead.

As things stand, Abraham reportedly wants to stay put in Rome, which comes as a blow for Arsenal. And it remains to be seen if the former Chelsea forward changes his stance in the coming months.
