Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic has reportedly offered himself to Borussia Dortmund as he is seeking a return to Germany in the summer.

According to German publication Sport1, Real Madrid forward Luka Jovic is intent on securing a move back to the Bundesliga in the summer transfer window and has offered his services to Borussia Dortmund.

Jovic signed for Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 from Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt after a stunning 2018/19 campaign with the Eagles. However, the big-money move to the Spanish capital has backfired spectacularly as the Serbian international has hardly made an impact at the Santiago Bernabeu.

A loan move back to Eintracht in the second half of the last season failed to help the 24-year-old bounce back to form. Jovic has also had some fitness issues, while his attitude and discipline have also been questioned at times. He has made just 49 appearances for Real Madrid, managing a paltry return of three goals and four assists.

With Real Madrid planning to bring in Kylian Mbappe in the summer and eyeing a move for another striker for a backup capacity, Jovic’s time at the Bernabeu is seemingly coming to an end. And the Serbian international is believed to be keen on returning to Germany before the upcoming campaign.

So much so that Jovic is understood to have offered himself to Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund ahead of the summer transfer window. The Black and Yellows are in the market for a new striker as they look to replace Erling Haaland, who is on his way to Manchester City. Red Bull Salzburg’s Karim Adeyemi is likely to arrive, but another striker could be brought in at Signal Iduna Park.

And Jovic has presented himself as an option to Dortmund. As per the report, the 24-year-old is an option that has been discussed within the club. But the officials are not sold over a move for the Real Madrid striker. While his record in Bundesliga makes a good case for the striker, his struggles in Spain, along with a lack of match practice and brushes with discipline, are causes for concern at Dortmund.

But Jovic remains an option under consideration at Dortmund, while their rivals, Bayern Munich, are also lining up a move for the Real Madrid striker. It remains to be seen if the 24-year-old Serbian international gets his desired move back to Germany in the summer. But as things stand, an exit from Real Madrid looks certain for Jovic.
