Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic is reportedly seeking a return to the Bundesliga in the summer after having fallen out of favour in Spain.

According to Sky Sport Germany’s Marc Behrenbeck, Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic is keen on making a return to the Bundesliga in the summer transfer window after close to three years of struggles in Spain.

Luka Jovic first burst onto the scenes at Eintracht Frankfurt when he joined on loan from SL Benfica in 2017. He enjoyed a successful spell in Germany with Die Adler, particularly impressing in the 2018/19 campaign. The Bundesliga club signed him permanently in 2019, only to sell him to Real Madrid for a massive transfer fee.

However, Jovic’s time at the Spanish capital club has been nothing short of a disaster. In close to three years at the club, the Serbian international has made just 49 appearances, scoring only three goals during this time. He returned to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan for the second half of the 2020/21 campaign but failed to make an impression.

Back at Real Madrid at the end of the season, Carlo Ancelotti decided to give him another shot, but things have not worked out. And, as things stand, Jovic is expected to be on his way out at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old striker is attracting interest from several clubs from across Europe. There have been links to Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, while there is interest from Italian clubs such as AC Milan and Napoli, among others.

However, as per the report from Sky Sport Germany, Jovic is uninterested in moving to any other league in Europe but prefers to move back to the Bundesliga. But, as things stand, there has been no indication that any club in the German top-flight want to sign the Serbian international in the summer transfer window.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Jovic at the end of the season. However, at the moment, one thing is clear the former Eintracht Frankfurt striker will not be staying put at the Santiago Bernabeu come summer.
