Arsenal have entered the fray for Juventus’ enigmatic French midfielder Adrien Rabiot ahead of the 2022 summer transfer window.

According to Fichajes, Premier League giants Arsenal have thrown their hat in the ring for the signature of French international Adrien Rabiot.

The 27-year-old is, on his day, an excellent player and showed during his spell with Paris Saint-Germain that he can cut it at the highest level. The move to Juventus has had its moments, but it falls well short of being called a home run.

Rabiot has found opportunities easy to come by in Turin under Massimiliano Allegri this season. He has, however, failed to impress more often than not and has been a passenger of sorts for the Turin giants. This has done little to deter Arsenal, who are seeking the player’s services.

Mikel Arteta’s side have enjoyed a topsy-turvy season themselves. Qualifying for the UEFA Champions League will aid the Spaniard in his attempt to rebuild the Arsenal squad by attracting better players in the summer

Despite a spot at Europe’s top table yet to be guaranteed, Arsenal appear to be eyeing players who can improve them from the word go. Rabiot might have lost his mojo but can rediscover it with the right guidance. Arteta appears confident that the Frenchman will experience better luck in England, and it remains to be seen if the Spaniard is a prophet.

Primarily a central midfielder, the 27-year-old can also do a job on the left. His ability on the ball coupled with the knowledge to make late runs should add more attacking impetus to the Gunners’ midfield. He could be seen as the perfect foil to Thomas Partey in the Arsenal midfield.

Rabiot’s great reserves of energy will add more athleticism to a midfield that has been bypassed quite easily by top teams this season. The likes of Martin Odegaard bring in silky skills, while Partey and Grant Xhaka are destroyers. Adding Rabiot into that mix will add more balance to the team.

Rabiot’s contract in Turin expires in 2023, meaning Juventus will need to sell him this summer lest they risk losing the player for free. There is no shortage of interest in the former PSG star and the Serie A giants appear to be willing to let him go. So, it remains to be seen if Arsenal can make the Italians an offer they cannot refuse.
