PSG are reportedly ready to hand superstar Kylian Mbappe a massive £150 million signing-on fee to prevent him from joining Real Madrid in the summer.

According to a report from BBC Sport, PSG are getting desperate in their attempts to hold on to Kylian Mbappe and are prepared to offer him a huge contract and signing-on bonus to keep him away from Real Madrid’s clutches.

Mbappe is in his fifth season at PSG, having signed for AS Monaco in the summer of 2017. Having moved on loan initially, the 23-year-old was signed on a permanent deal in 2018. The Frenchman has enjoyed tremendous success at Parc des Princes. He has amassed a tally of 160 goals and 81 assists from just 209 appearances so far.

Mbappe has also been excellent for the French national team, banging in 26 goals in 54 matches thus far. The Frenchman, however, has been a subject of intense transfer speculation since last year as he entered the final twelve months of his contract with PSG. A move to Real Madrid was touted heavily in the summer window, but Les Parisiens held firm.

But with just two months left on his deal, Mbappe is poised to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in the upcoming window. Despite there being an agreement between Los Blancos and the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, Paris Saint-Germain have not given up on their hopes of retaining his services beyond the end of the current campaign.

To that end, BBC Sport is now reporting that PSG are ready to offer Mbappe a mind-boggling signing-on fee of £150 million if he refuses Real Madrid and pens a new deal with them. In addition to the enormous signing-on bonus, the French Ligue 1 leaders would hand the 23-year-old superstar a lucrative contract worth £21 million per year.

However, the report claims that PSG’s efforts are likely to prove futile. Mbappe has made up his mind over a transfer to Real Madrid, despite saying that he is yet to make a decision on his future.

The report also claims that Real Madrid are very confident of landing the French forward and, as a result, have decided to cool their interest in Borussia Dortmund hitman Erling Haaland ahead of the summer window. So, as things stand, despite PSG’s best efforts, it looks like they will lose their best player in Mbappe come the end of the season.
