Kylian Mbappe has essentially shot down rumours linking him with Real Madrid, insisting he has not made his final decision yet.

In a conversation with Prime Video, ass quoted by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Kylian Mbappe did not reveal much about his future beyond the summer transfer window. The French international insisted he is yet to make a final decision on his situation while suggesting he is open to staying put at Paris Saint-Germain.

Kylian Mbappe has been nothing short of a revelation since his breakthrough campaign in professional football. The 23-year-old burst onto the limelight when he helped guide AS Monaco to a shocking Ligue 1 title triumph in the 2016/17 season before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has since been a pivotal figure for club and country and has enjoyed a stunning 2021/22 campaign. Mbappe has 28 goals and 20 assists in 38 appearances thus far for PSG. But Les Parisiens are in a spot of bother over the player’s long-term future, with his contract running out in the summer transfer window.

Mbappe’s situation has captured the attention of Real Madrid, who tried signing him last summer, albeit unsuccessfully so. Real Madrid’s interest has only grown stronger since them, and the Merengues thought they were on the verge of landing him not too long ago.

Recent reports have even indicated that six players are on the chopping block at Real Madrid to make room for Mbappe and Erling Haaland. But Mbappe’s transfer is yet to formalise, and the PSG superstar has now come on record to insist that he has not taken a final decision on his future.

“I haven’t made my choice on the future, everyone knows that. I’m thinking, there are NEW elements and a lot of parameters. If I had made my decision, I would’ve announced it. Is it possible to stay at PSG? Yes, of course.”

“There is no need to talk a lot… there are new elements that I will consider for my future. It’s not an easy decision, my family will help me. I don’t want to make any mistake. My choice hasn’t been made, the whole world knows that.”

Mbappe’s comments do not necessarily bode well for Real Madrid, who might still be battling PSG in the race to enjoy the services of the 23-year-old. It will be interesting to see where Mbappe finally decides to ply his trade in the 2022/23 season.
