Real Madrid reportedly sent out scouts to keep an eye out on Valencia starlets Cristhian Mosquera and Jesus Vazquez, who are attracting a lot of interest.

According to Spanish publication Defensa Central, Real Madrid were among a host of clubs to have scouted Valencia duo Cristhian Mosquera and Jesus Vazquez while in action for the Spanish Under-19 national team.

Mosquera is just aged 17 and has been with Valencia since 2016 when he arrived from the academy of Hercules CF. The teenager is a centre-back with great potential and has already broken into the senior setup at the Mestalla, making his debut in January earlier this year in a Copa del Rey clash.

Mosquera, who is primarily a centre-back but can play at right-back, has since featured five times for Los Che. On the back of his breakthrough for the La Liga club, the 17-year-old even earned a call-up to the Spanish Under-19 side last month and earned three caps for the team.

Vazquez, meanwhile, has spent his entire youth career at the Valencia youth academy. A left-back who is comfortable playing anywhere along the flank, the 19-year-old made his first-team debut for Los Che in December 2020, aged 17. He has seen more game-time in the ongoing season under Jose Bordalas and has featured 11 times for the senior side.

Vazquez broke into the Spanish Under-19 setup in September last year and has since turned out eight times for the national team, with his promise and potential catching the eye of a bevy of clubs across Europe, Real Madrid being one of them.

Real Madrid have been focusing heavily on youth recruitment in recent years, with Florentino Perez keen on building stars for the future from within La Fabrica. It has seen Los Blancos bring in talented youngsters from within Spain and across the globe into the club’s youth setup in recent transfer windows – a trend that seems likely to continue heading into the summer.

Indeed, Real Madrid recently signed Spanish wunderkind Marcos Garcia Montolio and have set their sights on a deal for Brazilian prodigy Endrick. They have recently been linked with another Brazilian talent in 18-year-old Thauan Lara.

And, as per the report above, Los Blancos sent scouts to watch Valencia duo Cristhian Mosquera and Jesus Vazquez for the Spanish Under-19 team in the ongoing international break. However, Real Madrid were not the only club watching the pair, with as many as 17 other clubs, including Juventus, Barcelona, PSG, Borussia Dortmund, having scouts present at the game to watch them in action.

It remains to be seen if Real Madrid launch a move to try and secure the signing of Mosquera or Vazquez in the upcoming summer transfer window.
