Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City have reportedly submitted an enquiry for Aurelien Tchouameni, a summer target for Real Madrid.

According to a report by Spanish publication MARCA, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City have joined Real Madrid in the race to sign Aurelien Tchouameni. The Premier League trio might have even leapfrogged Real Madrid in the chase, with the AS Monaco midfielder leaning towards a move to the Premier League.

Aurelien Tchouameni has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Ligue 1 since joining AS Monaco from Bordeaux in January 2020. Two years since his move to the principality club, the 22-year-old has become a much sought-after player in the transfer market, with several high profile clubs across Europe tailing him.

To date, the French international has turned out 86 times for AS Monaco, with 41 of those outings coming in the ongoing campaign. Tchouameni’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with several European giants, including Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City, setting their sights on him.

Recent reports have claimed that Tchouameni is a priority summer target for Real Madrid, with the Merengues keen on landing a long-term successor for Casemiro. The French midfielder, with his versatility, is a viable target for Real Madrid, with the player reportedly keen on joining Los Blancos.

But such suggestions have now been quashed, with the report by MARCA suggesting that the 22-year-old is leaning towards joining a Premier League club instead of Real Madrid. Incidentally, clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United have previously contacted his entourage.

Manchester United are in desperate need of a player of Tchouameni’s qualities given the absence of a reliable holding midfielder in their first-team squad. As for Liverpool, it is hard to see where the youngster would fit in their midfield unless he plays the Jordan Henderson role, considering Fabinho is the undisputed first-choice defensive midfielder.

Premier League champions Manchester City are also in the hunt for Tchouameni, with the player emerging as a possible successor for Fernandinho. According to MARCA, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City have already submitted their enquiries for Tchouameni, and they could be getting closer to landing him after leapfrogging Real Madrid in his chase.

Apart from the Premier League trio and Real Madrid, Tchouameni is also a target for Juventus. But the 22-year-old has no interest in moving to Italy, leaving Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City as the front-runners in his pursuit.
