Juventus are supposedly interested in signing Thomas Partey from Arsenal, which could prove to be a tricky task for the Italian giants.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus are reportedly exploring the option of signing Thomas Partey from Arsenal. There could be many complications if the Serie A giants decide to pursue a deal, especially financially, as the potential costs involved to acquire the Ghanian may not be viable for the Bianconeri.

Thomas Partey is finally showing signs that his massive £45 million price tag was warranted. Many were surprised when Arsenal decided to pay his release clause in full, and after an unconvincing first season, the Ghanaian midfielder is finally showing his class in this team.

He is blossoming into one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League and adapting to his new role pretty well. In recent games, Arteta has tweaked his system and deployed Partey at the base of the midfield to shield the defence. The Ghanaian has been superb in his role and has become one of the key components of the Gunners’ team.

Arteta is counting on Partey’s presence for the best part of the next few years, and rightly so, considering he has a long-term contract until 2025 in place. Despite that, Juventus are interested in bringing the Ghanaian to Turin, with the Serie A giants looking to make an approach in the summer.

Juventus have been keen on Partey since his Atletico Madrid days. The midfielder impressed the Bianconeri during a Champions League game against the La Liga title holders and has been on their radar ever since. However, the finances involved in signing the midfielder restricted the Italian giants from pursuing a deal then, and it could be the case once more.

When Arsenal attempted to sign Arthur Melo in January, Juventus demanded Partey be included in the deal, which was instantly rejected by the Gunners. It shows how much interest the Bianconeri have in the Gunners star, and it would not be a surprise if they make an attempt again in the summer.

Juventus are keen to freshen up their midfield options. They are prepared to let some of their existing stars, including Adrien Rabiot and Arthur Melo, leave in the summer window. Rodrigo Bentancur’s switch to Tottenham in the summer signalled the first steps towards the change of guard for Juventus in the area.

They did sign Denis Zakaria in a cut-price deal from Borussia Monchengladbach, and Max Allegri is already counting on him and Manuel Locatelli to become the team’s future. However, the club are keen on bringing in more names to improve the overall quality, and Partey is considered key to this process.

Juventus are also chasing Renato Sanches. However, in the case of Partey, it would be difficult for them to convince the Gunners to part with the midfielder. Secondly, considering the finances involved, it would be a difficult deal for the Italian giants to pull off, as the midfielder will certainly cost more than the £45 million Arsenal paid to Atletico.
