Barcelona will reportedly be looking to cash in on Samuel Umtiti, Clement Lenglet and Oscar Mingueza in a fire sale in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Samuel Umtiti, Clement Lenglet, and Oscar Mingueza might be approaching the end of their respective stints with Barcelona. The Catalan giants hope to offload the central defensive trio if they bring in two defenders in the summer transfer window.

Among the three centre-backs, Samuel Umtiti had the highest ceiling after a superb start to life as a Barcelona player. But following two solid campaigns at the onset of his Barcelona stint, the French international has steadily gone down the pecking order, with injuries and poor form blighting him constantly.

Lenglet was also touted for big things at Barcelona after a solid 2018/19 campaign but has blown hot and cold since then. And with Ronald Araujo progressing considerably in the last couple of years, the Frenchman has lost his place as a regular for Barcelona.

Of the three defenders facing an uncertain future at Barcelona, Oscar Mingueza has easily been the least heralded centre-back. But the 22-year-old has managed to usurp Lenglet and Umtiti in the pecking order this season, garnering 1,168 minutes of game-time across 21 appearances thus far, more than Umtiti and Lenglet combined.

But like the French central defensive duo, Mingueza’s days at Barcelona seem numbered. The Catalan giants are preparing for a busy summer transfer window that could see them add two centre-backs to their first-team squad, with Andreas Christensen reportedly already reaching a verbal agreement to complete a Bosman move.

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has also been heavily linked with Barcelona and could complete a free transfer to Camp Nou, like Christensen. The arrival of two centre-backs will prompt the Blaugrana to lighten the central defensive unit, leaving Umtiti, Lenglet and Mingueza staring at an uncertain future at the club.

While the report does not mention any prospective suitors, the trio has been popular in the market. Mingueza was even linked with a possible January move to Valencia before Los Che opted to sign Eray Comert instead. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Umtiti, Lenglet and Mingueza.
