The Hard Tackle takes a look at the latest transfer news surrounding Premier League giants Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

The 2021/22 season is nearly upon us and clubs continue to be hard at work to get their squads in the right shape before their respective campaigns kick off. Manchester United have been the busiest marquee Premier League club in the transfer market, having already signed Jadon Sancho while also closing in on adding Raphael Varane to their squad.

Arsenal have greeted a couple of arrivals and continue to remodel their squad in order to challenge the bigwigs of the Premier League after a long time on the wayside. Meanwhile, Chelsea have been eerily quite so far on the incoming front, with Liverpool in a similar boat after making the early signing in the form of Ibrahima Konate.

However, each of these big-name outfits have one thing in common. The transfer stories never stop when it comes to traditional Big Four of the Premier League. With that in mind, The Hard Tackle brings you some of the transfer stories revolving around the top clubs in the Premier League in our roundup of today’s stories.

Liverpool to offer Jordan Henderson in deal to sign Saul Niguez

Liverpool have not made a lot of movement in the transfer market since signing Ibrahima Konate. However, one department they appear to be intent on bolstering this summer is midfield, following the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum as a free agent. Saul Niguez is reportedly one of the Reds’ top target and as per El Gol Digital, they might just be able to table an appealing bid.

The Spanish outlet has claimed that Jordan Henderson, whose future at Anfield is highly uncertain amid reports that he is at an impasse with Liverpool due to negotiations over a new deal, could be on offer in a part-exchange deal to secure the services of the Spanish midfielder.

While Saul’s arrival could fill the void left by Wijnaldum’s exit, Liverpool could be back to square one if Henderson leaves. In addition, they will also lose a big leader on the pitch and all in all, such an offer from Liverpool is highly unlikely to be lodged. Having said that, if this is indeed the case, it will be interesting to see how Atletico Madrid respond to this offer.

Atletico Madrid keen on signing Alexandre Lacazette

From a player who could leave Atletico Madrid to make his way to the Premier League to one who could arrive from England. The reigning La Liga champions are keen on bolstering their attack this summer and with a potential deal to re-sign Antoine Griezmann hitting a snag, they have had to set their sights elsewhere.

As per Italian outlet CalciomercatoLos Rojiblancos have seemingly turned their attention towards Alexandre Lacazette, who is not exactly a fresh target. After all, the Arsenal striker has been heavily linked with Atletico Madrid on a number of occasions previously.

This summer, though, could be the best chance for Atletico Madrid to land the experienced French striker, who is intent on signing him. Lacazette will not cost the Colchoneros a bomb either, with Arsenal only demanding £15 million in exchange of his services. With Lacazette in the final year of his contract at the Emirates, he could very well be on his way from Arsenal to Atletico Madrid.

Manchester United unwilling to sell Daniel James amid Leeds United interest

Next up, is an update on Manchester United, who appear to be flying high in the transfer market. With all the positives, though, come some bad news for a few of the existing players in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad, with one such player being Daniel James, who has recently been linked with Leeds United.

The Welsh international seems to be in a precarious position in the first-team squad at Manchester United following the arrival of Jadon Sancho. And Leeds United are just one of many clubs to have shown an interest in swooping him away from Old Trafford this summer. However, as per The Sun, the Red Devils have no interest in cashing in on the 23-year-old.

In fact, Manchester United could even hand him a fresh deal to reward him and keep him content at the club. It is still unclear if James will be agitating for a move away from the club, especially with interest coming from some of the more stable Premier League clubs, including Leeds United. Manchester United, though, will be hoping to keep hold of him.

Crystal Palace hopeful of beating Leeds United to Conor Gallagher capture

Sticking to the Leeds United theme, and it looks like the Whites are not going to be the happiest of campers when it comes to their latest targets. While the West Yorkshire club have been hard at work in the transfer market this summer, they are hoping to round off their business with the addition of a few more key targets, one of whom is believed to be Conor Gallagher.

However, according to The Sun, Leeds might be trailing Crystal Palace in the race to sign the Chelsea midfielder. The 21-year-old is being tipped to be set to depart Stamford Bridge temporarily once again this summer, with Leeds showing a keenness to land him. However, Crystal Palace are hopeful of staving off competition from the Whites and others to land Gallagher.

Crystal Palace have already snapped up one player from Chelsea this summer, with Marc Guehi arriving at Selhurst Park earlier this month. Gallagher’s addition could be critical for an ageing midfield unit, but it will be interesting to see if Leeds can do anything to tempt Chelsea to agree a deal with them instead of the Eagles.
