Rodrygo Goes has confirmed that he is set to commit his long-term future to Real Madrid by signing a contract renewal that Los Blancos will officiate soon.

In an interview with Spanish publication ABC, Rodrygo Goes has confirmed that he will be at Real Madrid for a long time. The Brazilian forward has revealed that he is committing his long-term future to Los Blancos by signing a new contract, with the Spanish club set to officiate the renewal soon.

Rodrygo Goes spent his formative years in Brazil before bursting onto the limelight as a prodigious young forward at Santos FC. The 21-year-old earned a big move to Europe by joining Real Madrid, the club that has the reputation of poaching the brightest prospects in South America more often than not, in July 2019 and has come leaps and bounds since then.

The Brazilian forward’s tally of 18 goals and 21 assists in 108 appearances might not be inspiring. But Rodrygo seemed to come of age towards the end of the 2021/22 season, as he scored some crucial goals, especially in Real Madrid’s run to winning the UEFA Champions League crown for a record-extending 14th time. And Rodrygo has now confirmed that he is signing a new contract with Real Madrid.

He said, “It was already a dream to come here, I’ve been here for three years and now I’m going to renew my contract. I’m very proud of myself and the work I’m doing, but I still have a lot more to show.” Rodrygo also spoke about his match-defining goal against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, asserting he does not care if people call it luck.

The Real Madrid forward added, “We don’t care that people say the Champions League was luck because it wasn’t, it was hard work. Once it can be luck but not three times. City played better than us, but in the decisive minutes we were better and deserved to qualify.”

After proving to be a pivotal figure for Real Madrid, Rodrygo has earned his contract renewal, with Los Blancos reportedly reaching a total agreement with the Brazilian forward over a new long-term contract. With Marco Asensio’s future up in the air, securing Rodrygo’s future is important for Real Madrid.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Rodrygo is signing a contract that will last until June 30, 2028, with the deal including a release clause worth a whopping €1 billion. All that now remains is for Real Madrid to officiate the renewal, with the 21-year-old confirming the same already.
