Harry Kane has given his backing to Jordan Henderson while making a cheeky prediction of the Liverpool captain going on a scoring run.

England are one step away from reaching the final of UEFA Euro 2020, and the Henri Delaunay trophy is nearly within sight. After a comprehensive win over Ukraine, the Three Lions are charged up, and that has reflected in captain Harry Kane’s recent comments, as quoted by Liverpool Echo, wherein he has hailed the impact of Jordan Henderson.

Henderson appeared off the bench to produce a solid cameo, with the Liverpool skipper heading in the fourth goal scored by England, his first for his national side. And speaking in the post-match press conference, Kane was full of praises for the 31-year-old midfielder.

“I’m so happy for Jordan. It’s been a long time he’s been playing for England, and I know he’s been desperate to score that goal. There’s no better place to do it, than a quarter-final of the European Championships so I’m delighted for him. I said before the tournament that he’s a great leader and a great role model to have in this team and this squad.

“He brings a lot to us, whether he’s playing or on the bench so it’s great for him to come on and great for him to score. Who knows, maybe he’ll go on a little run now. That’ll be nice. The boys are buzzing for him. He’s a top, top guy. I’ve known him for a long while and couldn’t be happier for him.”

England are now set to face Denmark in the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2020, and a win there would take them to the grand finale at home stadium Wembley, where they will face the winners of the game between Italy and Spain. Kane, Henderson and the Three Lions, though, ought to take it one game at a time, having fallen at the same hurdle in the last major tournament – the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

As for Kane, he has put all the distractions pertaining to the transfer talk – he has been linked with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and even Liverpool – behind him and has got his groove back. With Liverpool midfielder Henderson also finding form at the right time, Gareth Southgate & co. are sure to approach the Denmark game riding a wave of confidence.
