Valencia are reportedly prepared to make a definitive attempt to sign Tottenham Hotspur attacker Bryan Gil on loan this month.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has offered an update on Bryan Gil’s future at Tottenham Hotspur. The young attacker has attracted a lot of interest from various La Liga clubs, including Valencia. And despite their initial failures, the Italian journalist claims Los Che are prepared to make one last attempt to sign Gil on loan before the January transfer window comes to a close.

Valencia have completed discussions surrounding salary coverage, but they are yet to come to an agreement over the loan deal. However, the Spanish giants are confident that a deal can be struck, with Jose Bordalas particularly keen on acquiring the attacker’s services.

A product of the Sevilla youth academy, Gil has endured a difficult start to life in England since joining Tottenham in the summer. The 20-year-old has failed to even muster 100 minutes of league action so far, falling behind Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and even Steven Bergwijn in the pecking order.

It is apparent Gil is struggling to find his feet in England, prompting interest from a host of Spanish clubs over a loan deal until the end of the season. Even Sevilla have expressed the desire to bring their former forward back on a temporary basis, in light of Erik Lamela and Suso’s injury woes.

Valencia are no exception either, with Bordalas looking to reinforce his attacking options during the second half of the campaign. Los Che have endured another mediocre season so far, but things are looking up lately. And with just three points separating them and seventh-placed Villarreal, they have a fighting chance of competing for the European spots.

The addition of Gil could go a long way in helping Valencia enhance their creative options, which appear overly reliant on Carlos Soler at times. The 20-year-old has the experience of Spanish football and will be keen on redeeming himself after a difficult start to the season.

However, it is up to Tottenham to make a decision on Gil’s future. The Lilywhites have not had the best of windows so far, losing Adama Traore to Barcelona, while offensive target Dusan Vlahovic has recently joined Juventus. So the fate of the 20-year-old attacker could depend on the club’s ongoing pursuit of Dejan Kulusevski, with Fabio Paratici hoping to land the Swede on a loan deal.
