Barcelona might not be done raiding Manchester City, with 27-year-old Portuguese duo Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva reportedly on their radar.

According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Barcelona might not be done swooping players away from Manchester City. The Catalan giants have enquired about the availability of Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva in addition to Raheem Sterling after sealing the deal to sign Ferran Torres.

Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva have been two of the best performers for Manchester City in the ongoing campaign. However, back in the summer transfer window, only one of these Portuguese internationals seemed to have a bright future at the Etihad. While Cancelo had been going from strength to strength, Silva was an unhappy customer at the club.

However, Silva has turned his fortunes around brilliantly, chipping in with seven goals and one assist in 17 Premier League appearances to establish himself as a key player for Manchester City. On the other hand, Cancelo has been a creative hub for the Premier League champions. The duo’s progress at Manchester City this season has not gone unnoticed, with Barcelona keen on signing them.

The Catalan giants hold a long-standing interest in Bernardo Silva, having attempted to sign him in the summer transfer window. Barcelona’s continued eagerness to sign the 27-year-old Portuguese playmaker has not dissipated one bit, and for a good reason.

With Frenkie de Jong facing an uncertain future at Camp Nou, Barcelona might need to enter the market for a replacement for the Dutchman. To that end, Silva fits the bill perfectly for the Blaugrana. As for the interest in Cancelo, the La Liga heavyweights need to bring in a long-term solution in the right-back slot, with Dani Alves only likely to remain at the club for a year or two.

To that end, Cancelo would be the ideal candidate to join Barcelona, with his ability to play as a left-back further making him an attractive target. In addition to Cancelo and Silva, the club has submitted an enquiry for another 27-year-old Manchester City star in Raheem Sterling, who has been heavily linked with them of late.

However, Manchester City will only let one of these players go if they receive Frenkie de Jong in return. Recent reports have claimed that the Premier League champions are among the Dutch international’s suitors, so such a demand does not come as a surprise.

So, after sealing the deal to sign Ferran Torres in the January transfer window, Barcelona might not be done raiding Manchester City. However, with their financial situation tight, it remains to be seen if Barcelona can sign any of the three 27-year-old City stars, considering they will likely cost a bomb.
