Juventus are reportedly keen on signing Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio in one of the two transfer windows next year.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Marco Asensio is the subject of interest from Juventus over a potential move next year. The 25-year-old Real Madrid forwardis being viewed as a potential option to fill the void left by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Marco Asensio has long been regarded as a promising young attacker, having shown a lot of potential in his early years at Real Madrid. However, a long-term knee injury has been detrimental to the fortunes of the Spaniard, who has struggled to perform consistently for Los Blancos over the last year or so.

The same has been the case this term as well, as even though he has three goals in seven outings to show for his efforts, each of those strikes came in one match. However, the 25-year-old remains a highly-rated figure in the transfer market, as illustrated by the interest cropping up in him, with Juventus keen on signing him.

The Bianconeri are believed to be set to enter the transfer market for an attacking reinforcement soon, with the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo taking a lot of goals out of their game. As a result, it is not surprising that the Serie A heavyweights have been linked with several attacking options already, including Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette.

Now, though, Asensio has popped up on the radar of Juventus, with the Real Madrid forward being a viable target as well, as he adds to the wide options for Massimiliano Allegri, potentially adding some much-needed competition for Federico Bernardeschi, Dejan Kulusevski and Federico Chiesa.

In addition, with Chiesa and Kulusevski being heavily linked with potential moves away from the Allianz Stadium, it will be prudent of the Serie A giants to keep their options open. However, it is likely that Juventus will face some competition for Asensio, with the Real Madrid ace also being linked with Arsenal once again.

What now remains to be seen is if Asensio’s time at Real Madrid comes to an end either in January or next summer. With Carlo Ancelotti being his staunch supporter, a departure might not be a foregone conclusion, although it will be interesting to see if the 25-year-old can turn things around at the Santiago Bernabeu.
