Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly called former Everton charge Richarlison to discuss a possible move to Real Madrid this summer.

According to a report by Goal, Carlo Ancelotti appears to be serious about bringing Richarlison over to Real Madrid from Everton in the summer transfer window. The Merengues’ manager has been in conversation with the Brazilian international to discuss a possible switch in the ongoing window.

Richarlison arrived in the Premier League by joining Watford in the summer of 2017 and made an instant impact at Vicarage Road. However, it is only after he joined Everton a year later did the 24-year-old finally started blossoming into a formidable forward, establishing himself as a pivotal figure for an ever-improving Toffees side.

To date, Richarlison has made 119 appearances for the Merseyside outfit, with a return of 42 goals and nine assists to show for his efforts. His progress seems to have impressed former Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti, who is now at Real Madrid and is keen on a reunion in the Spanish capital in the summer transfer window.

Ever since Ancelotti returned to Real Madrid, it has been suggested that he could make a move for some of his previous charges. And two Everton players, in particular, have been heavily linked with a summer move, with Richarlison and his strike partner Dominic Calvert-Lewin reportedly being on the radar of the Spanish giants.

However, it is Richarlison, in particular, who occupies the fancy of Ancelotti, with the Real Madrid manager keen on signing the 24-year-old this summer. His eagerness has now become even clearer, with Goal suggesting that the former Everton boss has already been in contact with Richarlison to discuss the possibility of a transfer.

Richarlison is a viable target for Real Madrid as well, with his ability to play across the frontline making him a potential asset for Los Blancos. Indeed, this versatility could make him a backup for the ageing Karim Benzema while already being one of the first-choice wingers for the Merengues, who have often suffered due to the inconsistencies of their young forwards.

In addition, with Eden Hazard’s fitness issues showing no signs of relenting, it will be a prudent move for Ancelotti to bring his former charge to Real Madrid. What now remains to be seen is if the 24-year-old becomes a priority target for Real Madrid as well, with former Ancelotti charges like Kingsley Coman also being pursued. Everton’s stance on a possible sale will also be interesting to see.
