Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly tracking Mohamed Salah over a possible move to swoop him away from Liverpool this summer.

According to a report by Transfer Market Web, Mohamed Salah is once again the subject of interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid ahead of the summer transfer window. The Egyptian forward could possibly leave Liverpool post the end of the season, with PSG also keeping tabs on him.

Salah joined Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017 and was an instant hit at Anfield. In fact, the 28-year-old has played a key role as the Reds have not only become regulars in the UEFA Champions League again but also reignited their habit of winning trophies, becoming one of the pillars of the success they have enjoyed in the last few years.

Indeed, he won the Premier League Golden Boot in each of his first two seasons with Liverpool while also inspiring them to being runners-up in the Champions League and Premier League before winning both the titles. Till date, he has a marvellous record of 119 goals and 45 assists in 192 appearances for Liverpool. Ahead of the summer, though, he is featuring on the radars of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Barcelona have not really been linked with many wingers lately, apart from Bryan Gil, perhaps due to the fact that Ronald Koeman has switched his preferred formation to the 3-5-2. However, Salah is adept at playing centrally as well and with Antoine Griezmann facing an uncertain future at the Nou Camp, the Liverpool superstar could be a viable option to replace the Frenchman.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, have a more straightforward need for someone like Salah, seeing as Lucas Vazquez is expected to depart as a free agent while the likes of Marco Asensio, Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Jr. have frustrated with their inconsistencies and Eden Hazard has spent more time on the sidelines than on the pitch.

As a result, Salah could be a much-needed addition for Los Blancos in the wide areas, adding the goals that they desperately need to support Karim Benzema’s output. Apart from Barcelona and Real Madrid, PSG are also tracking Salah, eyeing him as a possible replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who has coincidentally been linked with Liverpool.

Salah’s own future at Liverpool has a lot of question marks around it, with certain reports claiming that he is considering a summer exit from Anfield. If he does decide to call it quits at Liverpool, it will be interesting to see which of Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG manage to land him, especially keeping in mind the fact that the Merseyside club will place a hefty price tag on him.

I am sure that both Spanish clubs would like to buy Salah and it is possible that that Salah may like to go. Given that both Clubs are financially unstable and given that Coutinho cost £142m, what would it cost to buy Salah and how would they pay for him upfront given that LFC would need the money immediately to buy replacements?

I think this story is more about Spanish aspirations to placate and give false hope to their fans.

As an LFC fan I personally would not be worried if the deal happened and I think that it may be to Salah’s disadvantage to go, do players not learn from other experiences that it might not work out for the, just look at Coutinho currently at in the cold and longing to be back at Liverpool.
