Chelsea, Tottenham and Leicester are reportedly in a three-way Premier League heavyweight scrap in pursuit of Metz striker Habib Diallo.

The Sun claims that Habib Diallo is generating a lot of interest from top-tier European clubs. Chelsea, Tottenham and Leicester are reportedly all interested in the Metz striker, who is also on the radar of several other top European outfits along with another Premier League club in the form of Newcastle United.

The report values Diallo at £10 million, with Team Talk stating that Chelsea and Tottenham have had Habib Diallo scouted on several occasions this season. Leicester and Newcastle on the other hand have been drawn to Diallo for his form in Metz’s promotion-securing 2018-19 season to Ligue 1.

The jump in league and quality in terms of opposition faced has not slowed Diallo down one bit. The 24-year-old has scored 8 times in 13 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season, which is a great return and adds to his credibilities on the back of a 26-goal season in Ligue 2.

Chelsea have an in-form forward in Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi has paid heed to the Batman signal whenever called upon. But, Olivier Giroud seems to have been frozen out at Stamford Bridge and Frank Lampard might look to bring in another in-form forward to support or even play two up-front whenever he wants to.

Tottenham might be in more of a need of a striker. Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min are absolute beasts for the club. But, apart from it, Spurs haven’t had much luck going forward and could use for a super-sub like Habib Diallo to bring on to put more pressure on defences later in the game.

Leicester have Jamie Vardy firing on all cylinders. But, the Englishman is 32, and with no real options available upfront for Brendan Rodgers beyond Vardy, the club could be on the lookout for a new forward. The Foxes could be genuine contenders for the top four at least, if not the Premier League title.

Chelsea though, might be in a bit of a problem if their appeal at CAS doesn’t go as planned and the likes of Tottenham and Leicester go in for Diallo in January. One thing is for sure, the Senegalese forward will surely have his pick of the lot come January or summer of 2020 and it will be interesting to see who is able to bag the 24-year-old.
