Real Madrid are reportedly set to cash in on star German midfielder Toni Kroos, who is also open to leaving the club in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Spanish publication AS, Toni Kroos has decided to bring an end to his glittering stint with Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. The La Liga heavyweights are open to the idea of a sale as well, meaning a summer move may well be on the cards, possibly to the Premier League.

Toni Kroos has enjoyed one of the most illustrious modern day footballing careers, having amassed a number of major trophies, first with Bayern Munich before going on to enjoy further success with Real Madrid.

A 12-year senior career that has yielded 20 major trophies at club level, as well as the FIFA World Cup with the German national side can easily be regarded as one of the great careers of the last couple of decades. But, while Kroos has remained a key part of Real Madrid for a long time, his performances have taken a dip this term.

Right from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, that saw Germany being booted out in the group stage, Kroos has been a shell of his domineering self. And, that lackadaisical form has continued into the 2018-19 season, with Los Blancos standing no chance to win a trophy.

The shock results over the course of the season cost Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari their jobs at the helm at the Bernabeu. Subsequently, Zinedine Zidane was re-appointed as the Real Madrid boss last month, with the Frenchman due to begin a squad overhaul in the summer.

It now looks like Kroos could be a part of the overhaul, with Real Madrid ready to grant him his wish to embark on a new challenge. And, the soon-to-be deposed European champions will command a significant sum from suitors for the 29-year-old, so as to ably fund a move for either Paul Pogba or Christian Eriksen.

The star midfielder has been previously linked with Manchester United and as per the report, if the Red Devils remain keen on him, a low-money swap could essentially be on the cards. AS though, do not mention possible suitors nor the exact price tag.

For now, it looks like Toni Kroos might be in his final season with Real Madrid, and it remains to be seen where he heads off to in the summer transfer window, as Los Blancos look to cash in on their star midfielder.
