Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches is enduring a difficult period at the Allianz Arena and could be on the move in the summer as he seeks more playing time.

Renato Sanches has become a familiar subject when it comes to transfer stories and speculation in the media. The Sun reports that the young midfielder is unhappy at his club Bayern Munich and could seek a move away, citing the lack of playing time in recent months.

After breaking into the Portuguese squad for Euro 2016, where he played quite regularly and won the Championship alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Renato Sanches’ career has taken a downhill trip since. His performances at the championships in France earned him a big money move to Bayern Munich and back then he was the talk of the town.

After failing to impress the Bayern faithful with some disastrous performances on the pitch, Swansea, then in the Premier League offered him a way out after taking him on loan for the 2017-18 season. The Swans, however, cancelled his contract two months before the season ended and sent him back to Bayern with the Welsh side nearing relegation.

The idea was that Sanches could learn a thing or two being in the Premier League and then come back to Bayern to start on a clean slate. The midfielder’s performances at the start of the current season were terrific, even earning him a Player of the Month award back in September. However, since then things have gone sideways, and the Portuguese has fallen down the pecking order.

In a recent interview with Kicker, he stated his disappointment at how things are at the Munich club for him and his comments might sound like he wants a move away in the summer. As quoted by The Sun, he said, “I’m not happy here. I work a lot, but I’m not allowed to play. I want to play more, maybe at a different club, I have to worry about that.”

This could prompt some of the top clubs who like Sanches, to rekindle an interest in him once more in the summer.

PSG had submitted a £20 million bid to sign the Portuguese in January as per The Sun, which Bayern promptly rejected. The Parisian club would be closely monitoring his situation now that they might need new midfielders with Adrien Rabiot leaving and Christopher Nkunku being linked with Arsenal.

The whole Sanches situation could come as a big boost for Manchester United who have been interested in the Portuguese ever since his starring displays at Euro 16′. The Red Devils have been monitoring his situation for a long time now, and there is a feeling they could move for the 21-year old in the summer if his position remains the same.

As for Sanches, there is a long future ahead of him and his early season displays should be an encouragement. However, the midfielder seems worried all the time, and this could hamper him from making it big at Bayern Munich despite the promise he has shown. Will the young Portuguese midfielder move on in the summer? Only the next few months will tell.
