Real Madrid hopes to begin talks with Tottenham and Chelsea by lodging bids of £50 million for their star names Christian Eriksen and Eden Hazard.

Real Madrid have been quiet since the summer transfer since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club. The European Champions are ready to come roaring back in with their reported interest in two of Premier League’s most formidable stars, Christian Eriksen and Eden Hazard. According to The Sun, Real Madrid are preparing offers of £50 million for Hazard and Eriksen, although these are only opening bids.

Madrid are keen to begin negotiations with the two Premier League clubs, as they wish for the teams to name their price for their star players. The Champions League holders are undoubtedly expecting both Chelsea and Tottenham to turn down the opening offers of 50 million, although Real would be willing to take their chances with that offer.

At the end of the current season, both Eriksen and Hazard will enter the final year of their contracts at their respective clubs. Taking that factor into consideration, Real are prepared to test the resolve of both the clubs, although the transfer fees are expected to increase significantly if either of those players are to get their dream transfer.

Real are looking for two candidates ideally, although they were reported to be ready to sign either of Eriksen or Hazard. Madrid considers Eriksen as a long-term successor to midfielder Luka Modric, while Hazard is felt more in the mould of the departed Cristiano Ronaldo, whom Real have failed to replace so far.

Eriksen was thought to be offered a new deal by Tottenham which could have earned the Danish star somewhere between £200k-£250k per week, although it’s understood that the midfielder is looking for a new challenge in his career and not motivated by money. Real Madrid were assumed to be open to offering £100 million for him in the summer considering he’d be in the last year of his current deal.

As for Hazard, the rumours began circulating last summer about an impending departure from Chelsea. The Belgian star reportedly expressed his desire to leave the club as Real were looking to replace Ronaldo. Nothing happened, and Hazard stayed at Chelsea for this season although there is an understanding that he would leave.

Earlier some reports did suggest that Madrid were looking to seal a €60 million move for the Belgian, although its likely that Chelsea might demand more for their key player. Hazard too, as Eriksen has reportedly been offered a new deal at the club with a package of £300k a week. Signing this deal will ensure the Belgian dashes all hope of joining Madrid, although it’s understood to be his wish to play at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The subjected £50 million opening bids are likely to be rejected, although the players have given no indication whatsoever to their clubs that they might be willing to prolong their careers. In the case no agreement with their new deals are reached, there is a high chance Chelsea and Spurs would sell their star men to Madrid in the summer, and these players could be long term solutions to the Spanish club.
