Juventus superstar Alex Sandro has admitted to his desire to play in the Premier League one day, amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester United

As reported by Tribal Football, Alex Sandro might have given a boost to the hopes of Manchester United and Chelsea in his pursuit. The Brazilian defender has admitted that he wishes to play in the Premier League one day, although he is still committed to representing Juventus.

Alex Sandro has progressed leaps and bounds since joining Juventus from FC Porto in the summer of 2015. One of the mainstays at the back for the Bianconeri over the last three years, the Brazilian international has played a key role in their continued dominance in Italian football.

However, the 27-year-old has had his future up in the air for quite some time now, with a number of big name clubs making several attempts to secure his services over the last few transfer windows. The interest remains among the prominent names in European football, chief among them being Chelsea and Manchester United.

At Chelsea, Emerson Palmieri has not managed to settle in since his move from AS Roma earlier this year. Moreover, Marcos Alonso continues to have widespread reports linking him with a move away from Stamford Bridge, which would have Maurizio Sarri on his toes.

If Alonso indeed ends up leaving, Sarri would need a top class replacement, making Alex Sandro a viable target for Chelsea. But, the Blues are not alone in pursuit of the Brazilian international, who is also being tailed by Manchester United.

Manchester United’s continued interest in Sandro does come as a bit of a surprise, though. For a long time, the 27-year-old was seen as a replacement for the underperforming Luke Shaw. But, the 2018-19 season has been one of resurgence for the Englishman, who has established himself as a regular left-back at Old Trafford.

In fact, Shaw has made such a rapid progress this season that he has been rewarded with a bumper new deal by Manchester United. However, if reports are to be believed the Red Devils remain in the hunt for Sandro, who has now handed them and Chelsea a major boost with his latest comments.

“I think one day who knows what will happen? I have a desire to play in the Premier League, but right now I’m very happy where I am, at the club I am at [Juventus], the league I’m playing in. So today my only thought is to continue where I am because that’s where I feel happy.”

Sandro’s comments would give Chelsea and Manchester United a glimmer of hope to land him and create a solid two-pronged left-back arsenal, if they decide to make a move for him. But, Juventus would fancy their chances of keeping hold of the player, who has asserted that he is content at the Allianz Stadium.

A January move away to the Premier League is out of the question. But, it remains to be seen if Chelsea or Manchester United can land their target man next summer.
