Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest of the ‘big six’ of the Premier League are all reportedly showing interest in Blackburn Rovers prodigy Vilius Piliukaitis.

According to an exclusive report from Talksport, Vilius Piliukaitis is a wanted man. The Blackburn Rovers wonderkid has caught the attention of the Premier League, with all of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City – keeping a keen eye on the youngster.

Piliukaitis joined Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2018 from the Lithuanian Naitonal Football Academy. The youngster is yet to kick a ball for the senior team though, having been stationed in the under-18 team for the time being. His performances have still been impressive enough at the under-18 level to attract attention from the highest tier of English football.

A goal and an assist in 3 under-18 Premier League games thus far for the midfielder and the top clubs of the Premier League, with Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham all looking keenly towards the 17-year-old Blackburn star.

At United, the youth recruitment has been done at a frantic pace in the last couple of years, with the club keen on regaining their earlier clout in world football as far as football academies are concerned.

The likes of Tahith Chong, Nishan Burkart and Matej Kovar, all recent imports, have reportedly already caught attention while there are home grown players such as Angel Gomes, Mason Greenwood, George Tanner and a few others also gaining traction within the club ecosystem.

Liverpool have been troubled by the sanction issued to them by FA over the tapping up of a schoolboy. The Reds have been resigned to recruiting from abroad. But, Piliukaitis is a profile that interests them and one they will be ready to fight for, if other top clubs come in for the Blackburn star.

According to the report, Blackburn have brought the player in on a loan but reserve the right to make the deal permanent. The club would have been already looking to make it so. But, the advent of interest from the big six could prove to be a hinderance.

As far as Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest of the teams are concerned, they would likely be happy to look at how things develop for Piliukaitis at Blackburn for the time being.
