Manchester United are reportedly tracking Ranheim prodigy Odin Thiago Holm, with the Norwegian likely to be arriving for a trial come January.

Manchester United seem to have found another young prodigious talent in Norway. Odin Thiago Holm, who is currently part of the youth setup at Ranheim, is drawing plaudits for his performances at the youth level for both the club and Norway. Manchester United have taken note of his potential, according to Manchester Evening News.

Odin Thiago Holm is a name that first gained traction during the Sambor Youth Cup in Poland, with the player, a midfielder by trade, managing to get himself on the scoresheet on five occasions during the entirety of the event. Holm followed it up with a man of the match performance for Norway at the Under-15 level against Sweden.

The point worth noting is that he was also the captain in the match against Sweden, highlighting the potential to be a future leader at the club level, a rare quality that clubs look for in youngsters.

Manchester United have had a ruthless youth recruitment policy in place for the last couple of years now, especially since they were regularly humiliated by local rivals Manchester City at the lower age groups. Their aggressive policy is starting to deliver, with many of the academy stars taking the next step and impressing in the Under-23 Premier League while also knocking on the door of the first-team.

Coming back to the Norwegian region, Eastern Europe is a place where Manchester United have extended their scouting system and it has also yielded results, with the latest name to emerge being Erling Haaland – a natural goalscorer who currently plays for Brann.

Another prospect named Isak Hansen-Aaroen is currently being scouted by Dave Harrison.

As far as Holm is concerned, Manchester United are reportedly ready to be patient with the 15-year-old. United’s interest in Holm has been confirmed by a Ranheim club source, who explained the situation.

“The trial will most likely happen in January. He will finish this season with Ranheim, and a trial will happen after Christmas. Odin is enjoying his football at the moment and works hard every day in training to become a better player.”

Manchester United are spreading wings fast in order to secure the youngsters to keep the production line running. Perhaps, Holm will be the next Norwegian to make it to the first-team at Old Trafford. All in due time.
