Paul Pogba reportedly wants to leave Manchester United in the middle of the season to join Juventus in the January transfer window.

If an exclusive report by Daily Express is to be believed, Paul Pogba is desperate to force through a move away from Manchester United as early as the January transfer window. The Manchester United superstar was also heavily linked with a move to Barcelona in the summer.

Pogba returned to Manchester United from Juventus in the summer of 2016, amid a lot of hype pointing towards him leading the club back to the top of English football. A little over two years since the move though, and it all seems to have gone pear shaped at Old Trafford.

Pogba doesn’t seem to enjoy the best of relationships with Jose Mourinho, while Manchester United are under the cosh, with a Premier League title tilt looking unlikely. All the uncertainty at Old Trafford has given way to speculation linking the 2018 World Cup winner with a move away from Manchester United.

Barcelona have been the overwhelming favourites in his pursuit thus far, with reports suggesting that the Blaugrana will launch the offensive for the player in January after a move failed to materialise in the summer transfer window. But, they might not be alone in the race to sign Pogba, with Juventus also keen on re-signing him from Manchester United.

The Bianconeri do seem to be well stocked in the middle of the park upon the arrival of Emre Can. But, considering both Blaise Matuidi and Sami Khedira are on the wrong side of 30, Pogba seems to be a viable target who could be a long-term midfield solution for Massimiliano Allegri.

The Italian champions’ hopes of signing Pogba are now set to be boosted, with the report claiming that the 25-year-old is ready to call it quits at Manchester United as early as January. The Frenchman is eager to make his way back to Juventus to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

Pogba has already hinted that he is unhappy playing under Mourinho, who has attempted to quell talks of unrest in his dressing room. But, the player’s insistence to leave could put Manchester United on a slippery slope, even though they will likely be unwilling to sell their prized asset, be it to Juventus or Barcelona.

A tough January transfer window beckons for the Red Devils, as they aim to keep hold of the disgruntled star for the long haul. Juventus though, will fancy their chances if they decide to test the resolve of Manchester United with a bid for Pogba in the winter transfer window.
