Manchester United are reportedly the latest entrants in the chase for Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala, who is also a target for Liverpool.

According to Spanish publication Don Balon, Manchester United are set to turn their attention and efforts towards Juventus star Paulo Dybala. The Argentine international has been linked with Liverpool recently. But, it seems the second striker or the designated number 10 is set for a Premier League transfer battle for his signature.

Paulo Dybala has been touted to be the new poster boy of Argentine football. The player has worked up quite a reputation for himself in Serie A, especially since moving to Juventus. In his 3 years at the club, Dybala has 68 goals and 25 assists to his name, with a three-peat of the Italian double.

Much was expected of Dybala and the Argentine squad at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. But, Argentina bowed out of the competition in the Round of 16 and Dybala failed to impress. Although, it was criminal of people to think Dybala could have made a difference in mere 22 minutes on the pitch in the entire competition.

Jorge Sampaoli has much to answer, having preferred the likes of Maximiliano Meza and an out-of-form Angel Di Maria over Dybala. In fact, the manager failed to bring Dybala on during the nail-biting 4-3 loss to France in the Round of 16. With the World Cup campaign behind him, eyes are firmly locked on his club future.

There are reports of a blockbuster move to facilitate Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival at Juventus. Should the move see the light of day, Dybala is thought to be the one who could seek newer pastures or be susceptible to bids. Juventus will have to recuperate the reported €100 million that they will end up paying for Ronaldo.

Two clubs who are eagerly waiting to pounce on the opportunity are Liverpool and Manchester United.

Liverpool have an abundance of riches upfront. Their attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah wreaked havoc in the 2017-18 season. And even though they lack depth in attack, Dybala is unlikely to arrive on the agreement of playing a bit-part role at Anfield.

This might make Manchester United’s case much simpler. The Red Devils are looking for a quality number 10 to add to their squad. And who better than the player who has made the role his own at Juventus. So much so that the player has been able to nearly match the tally of Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic, all whilst playing behind him.

Manchester United have not had a ‘good number 10’ since the departure of Wayne Rooney and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Jesse Lingard has made the spot his own recently. But, the player does not have much competition in the role, which has seen United also target Jack Grealish.

United have also been linked with Ronaldo recently. But, Jose Mourinho is adamant on spending such a big amount on a younger profile who can provide more years of service and is more flexible in terms of playing positions.

Dybala could prove to be the cherry on top in what is already a stacked Manchester United attack. An attack comprising of Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala would be a dream for Manchester United fans and a throwback to the former dominating eras of the club.

The report entails Juventus could be ready to do a deal around €100 million for Dybala, which makes sense, considering that is the exact amount they are supposedly splashing on Ronaldo.

Jose Mourinho might just be able to build an all-star attacking roster at Old Trafford. Everything depends on the fate of Ronaldo’s move to Juventus.
