Cristiano Ronaldo appears set to leave Real Madrid this summer, with a stunning €100 million reportedly on the cards to take him to Juventus.

According to Josep Pedrerol on El Chiringuito, Cristiano Ronaldo’s illustrious Real Madrid career will come to an end in this summer’s transfer window. Juventus are on the cusp of signing the Portuguese superstar in a shock €100 million deal, with Los Blancos set to accept their offer.

Ronaldo has already enjoyed one of the most heralded careers in the history of the game, having been one of the best players, not just of his own generation but of all time. Since joining Real Madrid from Manchester United in the summer of 2009, his prolific season-by-season contributions have seldom been eclipsed, with the player consistently ending every campaign as one of the top scorers in Europe.

His record for Real Madrid is nothing short of mind boggling, with Ronaldo amassing 450 goals and 131 assists in 438 appearances. Add to that, the 15 titles that he has won at the club in addition to four Ballon d’Or with Real and it goes without saying that the 33-year-old is rightly bestowed with the tag of a living legend.

However, his future at Real Madrid has been uncertain ever since he made a shocking announcement hinting towards a possible exit after winning the UEFA Champions League in May. Over the last few weeks, Manchester United were the only club linked with Ronaldo, while staying at the Bernabeu seemed possible too. But, Juventus have now emerged as surprise suitors.

The Bianconeri have been busy in the transfer market, having already completed six signings. But, the potential arrival of Ronaldo from Real Madrid can eclipse any of their deals in recent windows as the veteran forward is still quite the feared quantity in front of the goal.

The slower pace of Serie A could help Ronaldo prolong his career as well. Juventus could still do with a player of his qualities despite the attacking riches that they possess. The likes Douglas Costa, Federico Bernardeschi, Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Juan Cuadrado and Gonzalo Higuain are all part of a stacked Juventus roster, although Mandzukic looks set to leave the club this summer.

Juventus also stand in good stead from the fact that Real Madrid have dropped Ronaldo’s release clause from €1 billion, and are ready to sell him for a much lower fee. Josep Pedrerol has claimed that the Bianconeri have offered €100 million in exchange for his services, which Los Blancos are ready to accept as well.

Pedrerol also claimed that Ronaldo will not be joining Juventus for money, although certain reports have suggested that he could be pocketing €30 million in Turin. For now, what appears highly likely is that the 33-year-old’s stellar Real Madrid stint will be coming to end this summer, with Juventus his next destination where he could be primed to win more honours in the coming years.
